Hosting is a service for providing computing power for the physical placement of information on a server that is constantly located on the network (usually the Internet). Hosting is also a service for placing the client’s equipment on the provider’s premises, ensuring its connection to high-bandwidth communication channels (colocation, from the English collocation).
Typically, the concept of hosting service means at a minimum the service of placing website files on a server running the software necessary to process requests for these files (web server). As a rule, the hosting service already includes the provision of space for mail, databases, DNS, file storage, etc., as well as support for the functioning of the corresponding services.
Database hosting, file hosting, email hosting, DNS services can be provided separately as an independent service, or included in the concept of a service.
