Harvard professor and Galileo project director Avi Loeb challenged conventional wisdom about UFOs in his latest Medium article. He suggests that the unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) recorded by military pilots and astronomers may not be alien craft, but artifacts of an older civilization from Earth.
Loeb paints a picture of an ancient technological civilization that existed before the last ice age. He suggests that changes in climate, possibly caused by technological activities, could lead to global warming, changing the face of our planet. Traces of this civilization, Loeb believes, could have been destroyed by geological activity or atmospheric influences.
In support of his hypothesis, Loeb cites contemporary reports from Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines about unidentified anomalous phenomena. It raises the question: could these mysterious objects be evidence of a technological civilization that existed on Earth 252 million years ago?
Despite the improbability of his theory, Loeb acknowledges its difficulties. The lack of archaeological evidence and questions about the preservation of technology over millions of years pose serious challenges. However, he insists that this possibility should not be ignored, calling for the use of scientific methods to collect data and test hypotheses.
Experts have already begun to express their opinions on this theory. Some emphasize the importance of exploring not only extraterrestrial space, but also the past of our own planet. Others have expressed doubts and called for more careful analysis of the data.
No matter how improbable this hypothesis is, it raises troubling questions about Earth's past and the possible traces of technological civilizations that may have preceded ours.
