The pyramids, pharaohs and ancient secrets of Egypt continue to excite the minds of modern researchers. Thousands of years after the mysterious disappearance of Queen Nefertiti, archaeologists led by Dr. Salima Ikram of the American University in Cairo are finally closer to solving this ancient mystery.

According to recent reports, one of the leading experts on ancient Egypt has speculated that the tomb of Queen Nefertiti may be discovered behind the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Dr Ikram shared her thoughts with the US Sun, saying that "there has been some debate about whether the queen's tomb is behind Tutankhamun's, but scientific tests have produced mixed results."

The wife of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV and stepmother of Tutankhamun, Nefertiti, who lived in the 14th century BC, left behind a mystery about the location of her tomb. Her image, embodied in the bust, has become a symbol of beauty and a timeless image of the face.

Dr. Ikram suggested that Nefertiti's tomb may be located behind Tutankhamun's tomb or in the Western Valley. She emphasized that the discovery of the royal tomb could provide unique information about the religious rites, traditions and material culture of Egypt during the late 18th dynasty.
