A recently circulated video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has triggered widespread debate online, with viewers claiming the footage may have been edited or manipulated.
Social media users who analyzed the video frame by frame pointed out several unusual moments. In one instance, coffee appears on Netanyahu’s lips while he is drinking, but after a sudden cut in the footage, the stain disappears instantly. Observers also highlighted changes in the appearance of hair on his hands and questioned certain movements, including when he places his hand inside his jacket pocket.
Some analysts have suggested the video could be an AI-generated deepfake, while others demonstrated how similar AI tools could replicate the same clip using another public figure, including Emmanuel Macron, raising further questions about the authenticity of the footage.
However, the café sataf at the location where the video was recorded later shared additional photos and videos of Netanyahu from different angles, in which no signs of editing were visible. Their posts suggest the viral clip may actually be genuine, casting doubt on claims that it was created using AI.
